Causes of boom cracking

How to prevent boom fracture

In this case, even if the cracks were small, the pump truck could not continue to work and should be stopped for inspection.

At the same time, the inspection of the boom cylinder should also be carried out. Check whether the boom cylinder is leaking oil. In this case, it is very likely that the boom cylinder is leaking, which will eventually cause the boom to drop when working, making the boom uncontrollable, and in serious cases, a major accident may occur.

The maintenance of the boom is mainly to add lubricating oil to the pins of its connection parts to extend the service life of the wearing parts. If you hear the abnormal sound of the boom being worn during the process of unfolding the boom, it is very likely that the pins lack lubrication. Therefore, daily inspection and maintenance are very important.

Prolonging the service life of the boom is mainly the task of the pump truck manufacturer. The first is of course to use high-strength materials, and currently high-strength steel has been widely used in pump truck booms. The second is to optimize the design of the boom, and try to make the boom lighter after reaching its working strength, reducing unnecessary loads. The third is to conduct a large number of experiments, apply an extreme external force to the boom, and test how long its service life is under extreme working conditions. And through continuous optimization of the design, the ultimate compressive resistance of the boom is enhanced.

Therefore, extending the service life of the boom is not a problem that can be achieved overnight. It must be combined with materials, design, and a large amount of technical and experimental data accumulation. Therefore, this is why some experienced small pump truck manufacturers are selected.
