Different Folding Types of Concrete Boom Pump

The upper part of the concrete boom pump truck is a major feature that distinguishes it from other similar machines. It is mainly composed of a turret, a pumping mechanism, and a boom system. The boom system of the concrete pump truck is used for the transportation and distribution of concrete.

Through the telescopic boom cylinder and the rotation of the turntable, the concrete is directly delivered to the position indicated by the end of the boom, that is, the pouring point, through the delivery pipe attached to the boom.

The boom system is mainly composed of multiple booms, connecting rods, cylinders, and connectors. According to the different rotation directions and sequences between the booms, the boom has a variety of folding forms, such as: R type, Z type (or M type), ZR and double z concrete boom pump.

1. Two-section boom folding method

Usually, there are two folding methods for two-section boom concrete pump trucks. The first is the upper fulcrum type. The reason for this method is that the first section of the arm is at the top, so the center of gravity of the arm is low, which is beneficial to the stability of the whole vehicle; the second method is the lower fulcrum type, which has the advantage of being easy to unfold.

2. Three-section boom folding method

Generally, there are 6 commonly used combinations of three-section boom folding methods according to the fulcrum position and folding method. Each folding method has its advantages and disadvantages. Among them, the R-shaped folding boom has a relatively compact structure, while the Z-shaped folding boom has a lower opening space and moves quickly when opening and folding. Therefore, these two folding methods are also more commonly used in actual operations.

3. Four-section and five-section boom folding methods

Compared with two-section boom and three-section boom, four-section and five-section boom have more folding methods, and the commonly used ones in construction are M-shaped, S-shaped, RZ-shaped, etc. Among them, ZR concrete boom pump combines R-shaped and Z-shaped folding methods, which has the advantages of both.

How to adjust the boom length

1. The boom is adjusted by the boom arch adjustment scheme so that the small vehicle-mounted pump can better adapt to the construction distance.

2. Due to its special folding structure, the concrete pump truck can only fully unfold the boom during pumping construction compared with the telescopic structure of the crane boom, and the method of adjusting the boom arch is adopted to achieve pumping.
