How To Operate A Pump Truck

Before construction, the staff who operate the all terrain pump truck must undergo special technical training. Be familiar with the mechanical performance of the pump truck, master the operation methods and precautions, carefully follow the safety responsibilities of this position during construction, and comply with the relevant safety regulations on site.

Stand the voltage switch upright. This is the on state so that we can operate the pump truck.

1. Chassis start and power switching:

(1) Pull the handbrake on and adjust the gear lever to the neutral position (this position is the pumping position). Then turn on the PTO power engine.

(2) Adjust the switch button to the pumping position. Until the indicator light comes on, release the switch and it will automatically return to its original position.

(3) Then shift the pumping gear and shift the handle to the 8th gear position.

Note: After shifting the gear, the hydraulic system must be preheated for a few minutes before operating the outriggers, booms, pumping, etc.

2. Outrigger operation: Before operating the outrigger, obstacles around the outrigger must be cleared.

(1) Before operating the outrigger, the control state button must be modulated to the near control position.

(2) There is a set of outrigger operating valves on the left and right sides of the pump truck to control the deployment, extension and lifting of the outrigger.

Specific operation method:

a) Press the button switch above the outrigger operating valve downward, and then press or press the corresponding outrigger operating handle to control the movement of the outrigger.

b) First, unfold the outrigger of the vehicle and put it on the ground. Pay attention to the pad under the outrigger. The pad plays a large-area force-bearing role, making the concrete pump truck more stable.

c) Check the level of the vehicle body and keep it balanced on the ground to prevent overturning.

d) Then raise the outrigger to make the wheels level off the ground.

3. Boom operation: Before operating the boom, you need to know the buttons and functions of the wireless remote control.

(1) Before operating the boom, you must adjust the control state button to switch the remote control position.

(2) On the wireless remote control, press the start button, and press it again after 2-3 seconds. When you hear a horn sound (indicating that the remote control and the pump truck system are connected)

(3) Boom start: Unfold arm 1 and start to stand up until about 85 degree, then you can move other arms. (Note that sometimes the boom cannot be started because the boom switch is not turned on. The boom switch is turned on when it is turned up and off when it is turned down.)

(4) Boom deployment sequence: Boom 2 is allowed to be deployed only after Boom 1 is fully deployed, and Boom 3 is allowed to be deployed only after Boom 2 is deployed to a horizontal position of 90°. Boom 4 is allowed to be deployed only after Boom 3 is deployed to a horizontal position.

(5) Rotation: Press the rotation button to swing the fabric left and right, and rotate the fabric 360 degree.

4. Pumping operation:

Press the pumping button on the remote control (the button is forward pumping when it is upward and reverse pumping when it is downward), the piston starts to move, and the pumping process starts to move. If the button is bent to the middle after the work is completed, the pumping is stopped.

Reverse pumping is used when washing the pipe after the work is completed, and the concrete cleaning ball is cleaned or when the pipe is blocked

Note: After pumping starts, the displacement should be adjusted to 30% and pumped at a constant speed. After stopping pumping, the remaining concrete in the hopper should be pumped clean, and the sponge ball with water should be inserted into the hose at the end, and the reverse pump button should be pressed to reversely pump the sponge ball into the hopper. The pipe washing is completed.

5. Retract the boom: retract the boom to the position for driving. The order is opposite to that for unfolding.

The order of retracting the boom: first stand up the 1st boom, stand it to 90°, retract the 4th boom first, then retract the 3rd boom, then retract the 2nd boom, and then retract the 1st boom (the order of retracting the boom is to stand up the 1st boom first, and the other booms can be operated at will as long as they do not interfere when retracting the boom).

6. Retract the outriggers:

Modulate the control state button to switch the near control position. Operate the outrigger button, retract one side at the same time, and the body should be in a horizontal position when the other side is retracted. To prevent the body from overturning.
